Question for Ford supporters

My major one issue is getting justice for the Iraq ordeal and Bush lying to me. I'm listening to all of the show with Kurita. What I didn't like was her stance on Iraq. She claims she won't support an investigation if she gets in the Senate and we shouldn't go after Bush but we should be united as a country and it isn't fair to our soliders to talk about impeaching Bush during a time of war. She says she spends a lot of time with the soliders in her area and they believe they are doing good over there and bringing democracy and all that. She says the reason why we went to Iraq was to fight them there instead of here and to protect ourselves (the host goes "from Saddam Hussein???") . So my question is this. For Ford supporters: would Ford be for an investigation and impeaching Bush? Would he vote for that if he makes it into the Senate? I'm not that big of a fan of Ford but if he will do what Kurita won't then I would think about voting for him. My main thing is to elect someone who can help us get justice for all those who have died for Bush's lies.

2. There are a lot of issues

that I do agree with her on. But there's also the whole thing with Iraq. *sigh* She sounded a lot like a republican with her Iraq answers. She is a DLC type of course. Someone Emailed in the show and asked her how can she call herself a democrat when there are documents showing how Bush lied and all that and she totally dogged the answer and said something that didn't even address the question. AHH! I do like her for a lot of her stances then Ford but if Ford is for investigating Bush for Iraq I'm willing to hold my nose and vote. Here's what she said: <"I don't have to defend any layout and my party affiliation because of what someone else says or thinks about how I think and feel about my soliders. The fact is soliders are dying and also they are dying in order to protect us in this country. Being an American and being in support of the military is much more important to me then carrying a flag that you read as a certain party label.> NOTHING about the documents.

3. Well of course I don't need to tell you

that soldiers are dying because Bush lied the country into an unnecessary war, and that more people are going to die if he's not held accountable. When are people going to get that support of the military and soldiers is not the same as support for the president or his policies?

You should ask her what she thinks the Republicans would be doing if this were a Democratic administration. It sounds like a very frustrating situation.

5. Also

Harold has called for a new plan in Iraq and said we need to bring our soilders home as soon as possible. He has criticized the Bush admin for misleading the public about Iraq and not seeing the reality of what is actually happening there. And as I said in the previous post, he is for more investigations into the Downing Street memos. So as you can see, he is much more agressive towards the Bush Admin in dealing with Iraq than Kurita is.

8. There are

issues I don't agree with Ford on while I do agree with Kurita on. The only thing I found myself not liking was what she said about Iraq and Israel. But if Ford is the type of person who listen's to people (unlike some Senators *cough*Frist*cough*) on certain issues then maybe I'd vote for him cause of Iraq. This will be our last chance to get them for all they've done and maybe have a real investigation of 9/11 as well. The thing I like about Kurita is she is for indie energy, she will vote no on Bolton from what she's read and seen, and she's for the UN and in staying involved with them. So that's where I'm torn. Do I vote for someone who I agree with everything except foreign policies (ie: Iraq and the DSM) or do I vote for someone who I disagree with on basically everything except foreign policies?

I know Harold has already called for more follow up investigations on the Downing Street Memos, however, I don't know if he would vote to impeach Bush. I don't know if anyone would. We would just have to see where the follow up investigations on the memos lead to then you could have a better picture. I don't want to speak for the Congressman, so I won't say yes or no on voting for impeachment. Heck, I doubt there would even be a vote for impeachment on the floor, so that is an unlikely event to occur.

I don't think Harold will address this issue or should, in my opinion because it is very unlikely to happen and it is considered extreme, especially here in Tennessee (Bush won by 12% or so). He just needs to focus on winning the election right now.

We not only need to stop the right wing, we need to crush it
or it will come back stronger than ever (if you can imagine that).
To turn the country around, and sustain that turnaround, we must win over crossovers, "dixiecrats", the voters traditionally refered to as the "silent majority".
I'm not sure the calls for impeachment have been productive towards
this end.

That's why we should look at the DSM. Kurita seemed to be against it cause of the soliders and "we need to be united as a country" and how it'd make them look bad if we're back here off impeaching the CIC during a war time. We have to get them though just to show that they can't get away with crap like this for the future. *sigh*

You mean the subject of administration accountability?
Absolutely.
However, I doubt we'll be able to realize real accountability
until:
1. We win over enough moderate Republican support to
the cause
2. We restore the Democratic majority
