Airplane Political Advertising - A New Low |
|
While walking out of the local Hardware store, I heard a small plane flying overhead, so I naturally looked up because it was flying so low. It was a small prop plane with a large banner flying behind it that said "ABORTION IS TERROR" and prominetely featured a large, gory photo of an aborted fetus. Come to find out, it was sponsored by a Right-Wing religious get out the vote group that is working on getting people out to the polls just on the abortion issue alone. This will work in Eastern Tennessee because it is heavily Pro-Life and some one issue voters will answer the call to arms.
Has anyone else noticed this flying over their cities here in the state? This was in the Tri-Cities, so I assume they are trying to drum up the vote from the religous right.

It will be Question 1 on the ballot.
Having said that, I haven't seen much advertising of this fact aside from a few yard signs that say "YES ON 1", which is very unclear. Most people don't even know its going to be on the ballot this year! I expect this to change as the churces ratchet up their assault and the Right-Wing tries desperatly to turn out the voters.

4. I've spent my days driving people (mostly elderly folks) to the polls to |
|
vote since last Thurs., and most of them voted no on that amendment!:wow: They have much more of a live and let live, they're citizens protected by the same Constitution, right?, and I've also heard - I voted no because I'm sick of that shit.
Granted, this is a small sampling of the total voters in this state, but I've been surprised to say the least.
