According to local news last night the Bradley County Election Commission |
|
has been swamped with people trying to register to vote and with others ensuring that they will not have any problems on election day. The office extended their deadline to register and opened again on Sat., 10/2, to give people another attempt to register.
The 2 main people interviewed were 2 young males who mentioned Rock the Vote and they truly didn't seem to be bush* supporters. One mentioned that he had been so busy getting his peers registered that he had forgotten about himself and took advantage of the extra day to get himself and a friend registered.
Trying to maintain optimism here and this seems like good news.

1. Things are heating up no doubt. I think southern states are much closer |
|
than many think. Keep the faith. And even a close loss is a statment and something to build on. I feel like the pieces of a puzzle are coming together. That we are on the verge of a populist awakening.

2. I think they make be closer, too, and I'm hoping this group of newly |
|
registered, first time voters are going to help get Kerry elected!
The news segment also showed an older gent who hadn't transfered his voter registration from his home state and hadn't voted in years and he mentioned that he had changed it this time. He mentioned not being happy with the way things are going and that he thinks it's time for change! Doesn't sound like a bush* supporter either.

|
They showed several Elections offices with stacks and stacks of voter registrations that were mailed in....
I have said all along we are going to take Tennessee.....Gore lost out County in 2000 but I firmly believe Kerry will carry it...All the signs are pointing that way...

5. I'm hoping that there aren't a lot of screw-ups happening with the new |
|
registrations. I received a new voter registration card in the mail a couple of days ago and I couldn't figure out why. My county's election commission overhauled the voter lists, polling places, etc. 3 or so yrs. ago and I can't think of a reason to receive a new card.

7. Family member received voter registration card in the mail |
|
after registering to vote by mail postmarked the 2nd. The card he received had the date registered as the 5th, because that was the date he was actually entered on the computer. Called and asked...said it was OK, that if it was not OK he would not have received his card at all. Just have to wait and see how it plays out. Frustrating.
