Early voters endure long lines ---- is a headline in today's paper |
|
Nearly 3000 Hamilton County voters turned out to cast ballots Wednesday on the state's first day of early voting, officials said.
Hamilton County Administrator of Elections Fran Dzik said she was pleased by the first-day turnout. Ms. Dzik said she expects the steady stream of early voters to continue through Oct. 28, when early voting ends.
This sounds good for turnout, but these are some signs of the stupidity of some of these people...
Marshall Norfleet, 38, said came out to the Northgate location Wednesday to beat the crush of voters on Nov.2. Mr. Norfleet said he voted for the Democratic nominee, Sen. John Kerry.:-). But Beverly Bowman, a retired Hixson resident standing behind him in line, said she was going to "cancel his vote".
She said she was looking forward to voting for President George W. Bush so she could tune out media coverage and kitchen-table talk of the campaign. "I'm tired of watching all the stuff about the election," she said.:dunce:
Norman and Sue Bookout turned out to vote early so they wouldn't feel compelled to watch the presidential candidates Wednesday night. :wtf: (These are Bush* voters and here is their last statement) "But we're going to heaven, so it's all right," he said. I don't know what the hell that last comment is supposed to mean - are they going to heaven because they voted for Bush* or are they convinced they'll be forgiven for voting for the doofus.
I thought that this was interesting:
In 2000 there were 2.1 million total voters. There are now 3.6 million registered voters in the state, with 328,000 of them new registrations, officials said.

2. LOL! I couldn't believe the ones who voted early so they wouldn't feel |
|
like they had to watch the debate...talk about willfully ignorant. Maybe they're banking on the saying that God watches out for fools and the little children. But then again, that doesn't cover those who choose to be ignorant and ill-informed.

3. A co-worker told me of long lines in Putnam County as well |
|
I'm going to slip in there sometime next week, and frankly, I'll be thrilled if I have to stand in line.

4. I'm going to vote early this time I think |
|
Spouse says that he feels like he needs to vote early this time because he's afraid he'll have a stroke or something prior to Nov. 2 and he wants to make damned sure that he gets to vote against bush*. I think that this election is getting to him a little bit.
