the Tennessean is Starting to Look Like a Real Newspaper |
|
I still haven't picked up the paper edition in eons, but I've noticed on the website, over the last two weeks, there seems to be more hard news and less junk taking up prime space.
They're also getting a little more mature in the writing/editing style. Less "campire tales," although there's still a little bit of that (any of that style newswriting is too much for me).
I hope the new Ed-in-chief can keep the momentum going. It would be so nice to have a daily that's not an embarrassment on the state capitol.

and in my view, his columns are the biggest embarrassment of all. And I'm not just saying that because he is so right-wing; there are actually some decent conservative columnists. He's a poor writer, a worse researcher and arrogant to boot. At the very minimum, he needs to be cut back to no more than one embarrassing column (rant) a week.

If it weren't for the long quotes from emails he says are in his inbox, he wouldn't have a column.
