Is Rick Perry The Next Sarah Palin?

WASHINGTON -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) and Sarah Palin may look nothing alike, but they increasingly have more and more in common with one another, with Perry following in the footsteps of the former Alaska governor in what could culminate in a campaign showdown in 2012.

Palin became famous for quitting her job as governor of Alaska in order to hit the speaking circuit and become a national conservative voice. She has a best-selling book, a pundit gig with Fox News and even a reality television show on TLC.

(snip)

But if he does succeed on Tuesday, his attention will immediately be turned away from Texas and onto national conservative causes. He has a book called Fed Up! coming out soon, which casts federal policies as a "legitimate threat to America's continued leadership in the free world."

While he stresses that he's not interested in running for president in 2012, he is also refusing to commit to serving a full term if he is re-elected as governor -- a scenario that immediately brings to mind Palin resigning before completing her term.

Texas voters should see through this bush/palin wanna be, but why can't they? He is such a coward and a liar, he won't tell Texans the truth. Can we imagine Perry cutting and running from the $21 billion Texas deficit - you betcha!

:puke:

1. Perry to start national book tour soon after Tuesday

Perry to start national book tour soon after Tuesday

In a reversal from what he said during the second Republican primary debate earlier this year, Perry on Friday would not commit to serving the full four years of his term if Texans re-elect him tomorrow. According to Peggy Fikac’s story in the Houston Chronicle, Perry said, “I’m guaranteeing people that I’ll get in there and do the best job I can for ‘em as governor. I just think it’s always very premature to be making a statement about what you’re going to be doing two, four, six or eight years from now - I don’t ever take anything off the table.”

Ricky, chicky, chicky - flip flopping on whether he'd serve a full term. Typical "I'm in it for me" type of answer.

2. I don't think
The great people of USA are not ready for another president from Texas after the last 2 disasters.

I would love to see a republic run Perry/Palin for prez.

3. Me too - the 2012 RNC ticket
But here's what really chaps me - if this criminal gets re-elected and then resigns to run for national office - we get Dewhurst by default. That is so wrong on so many levels!

I'm just so mad at the stupidity of Texas voters. What does it take really, for them to wake up to Perry's criminal activity? :grr:

6. Not so sure about that, WC...

seems like Americans have completely forgotten that the Republican Tea Party were the ones who got us into this mess in the first place. We'll see after these elections as to whether or not the voters will vote for another cowboy Texan or not.

4. Here's Juanita's take
“Okay, Buckeroos and Buckerettes, we got some bad news on the horizon in Texas. Rick Perry is pondering on being President. Of the United States of America. You know, the same United States he wants to secede from. Just trying to figure that out ought to hurt your head.”

Perry has penned a book with national themes to be released a mere 13 days after the election. You can pre-order your copy of “Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington” in hardback or a virtual version for your Kindle.

“Rick Perry is George Bush without the intelligence and charisma. However, he is so slick that he can’t keep his socks up. When someone once asked me to say something nice about Rick Perry, all I could come up with is that as far as I know he’s never purposefully had body odor.”

5. "Rick Perry is George Bush without the intelligence and charisma"
Man she hit that right on the nail. And we know bushie was stupid; Perry is a lower level of intelligence below G.W.

We can not have another idiot be launched from the Texas political scene. We are going to be crucified for it!

Even more than we're getting it now!
