1. it's going to be a late night in Webb
one of the scanners broke & the tech from SA apparently got lost. At least we voted on paper & the votes can be hand counted.

6. Well, the Texas state site crashed
But so far, the big counties have yet to come in so things can still go our way. :)

7. Yep, no need to worry until after the big areas hit
I have a friend that's somewhat new to this election return thing. Sure he watched Obama win in 2008, but he wasn't like me up during every single primary return night watching. He was already worried and I just pointed out "hey, only 37 precincts are in, there's a long way to go." :)

8. Well, and most of those are the early voting results
This night is far from over. Don't let your friend be swayed by early projections.

9. That's what I told him.
I said "look there's a loooong way to go, trust me, I've spent many a night watching election returns."

:)

14. The national news is clueless
The big cities have barely reported and most of the counties are reporting less than 5% of their totals.

16. Here's a message from Bill White:
For those who will be following election results, beginning with the release of the early vote sometime before 8 pm or so: we expect to be weaker in the early vote than the election day vote. And also be wary of any computer projections of a win or loss--these projections are based on historical patterns and our grassroots effort will make those type of projections unreliable in this contest.

18. I hope you don't mind...I reposted this in GD, in the Rick Perry wins
Re-election thread.

Why can't people just wait? I'm really beginning to hate all of the news outlets. This isn't their race to call, only to report on. :(
