Called Culberson's DC office about his PP vote - his staff is VERY HOSTILE
A woman answered and I was very polite. A few minutes into the call I said I didn't understand how she, being a woman herself, could support such anti-woman legislation.

SHE EXPLODED.

Guess they are all woman haters there - even the women.

I told her that I would be working towards his defeat as anti-woman legislator.

Her voice was shaking with rage.

But, she took all my info and said she would pass along the msg.

I can only guess what she is going to do with all my personal information.

2. I know, I know, I didn't expect anything, BUT this is the 1st time they've been aggressively hostile
I've called many times over the yrs, to voice my opinion because I feel like somebody SHOULD call, just to let him know that not ALL of his constituents agree with him.

This was the first time a phone-answering staffer absolutely went off on me.

Must have hit a nerve. It was extremely unprofessional.

I wonder if I will have any better response from KBH's staff.

Cornyn's office is a joke.

3. called KBH's office, you can only leave a msg - pretty much begged for her support
Left a very solicitous msg, asking her to please not cutoff the only access to medical svcs that many women of TX and the nation have.

Said that as a woman, I hope she could find her way to supporting the cause of women & children and reinstating the funding of PP and all the svcs they provide.

Ack, we'll see.

4. You were actually able to leave a voice mail?
When I've called in the past, it's been just a message saying they are unavailable. 99% of the time. Someone actually answers once in a blue moon. And I'm talking about during office hours.

5. Interesting! Yes, option to press 2 or something to leave a comment.
I probably called before they had a heads up to turn off the phone system!

This way to the egress. I'm convinced they have a back line for the "real" people.

Can't decide if Olson's any improvement, though. You can almost always get through to a staffer during business hours and there's an answering machine for when they are not there or busy. So you can at least get the vocal sounds representing your opinions through to the office. After that....

I sent him an email protesting any consideration of putting the Ten Commandments (which version....!? ;-> ) in classrooms, etc., and got a form email back about how we're a Christian nation where the founding fathers thought fit to put "in god we trust" on the money and "under god" in the pledge.

In a rational word, I could force him to fold by pointing out when and under what circumstances those were added, but I doubt he's susceptible to logic. Probably wouldn't even help if I hauled out the Treaty of Tripoli.

Hey, thanks for the heart - I didn't know anybody even noticed me. I *am* true blue, as *I* define it. (Which means following the principles, not the party, unless it shores up its principles, and its actions.)
