Oy! " Rick Perry says he will "think about" running for president "
http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2011/05/rick-perry-says-he-will-think.html

In his strongest statement yet about running for president, Gov. Rick Perry said day he will consider running for president after Legislature adjourns. "I'm going to think about it," the Republican governor said today. In the past, Perry has effectively ruled out a race for president, saying he doesn't want to go to Washington. But his tone has shifted in recent days with aides saying he has "no intention" of running. But Perry's name is an increasingly hot property in the political world as nobody in the Republican field seems to have emerged as a clear front-runner.

Perry told reporters after a bill signing of legislation that will require votes to have a photo ID that he's still focused on the Legislature, which adjourns on Monday. But when asked if he'd think about it after the session ends on Monday, he said, "Yes." Then, as if to maintain the ambiguity that has surrounded his future plans, Perry added, "I think about a lot of things." He joked that one person who is encouraging him to run is Republican Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who is seen as a possible successor should Perry leave office.

Perry got an endorsement this week from an Hispanic Republican group and has been praised in recent days by talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh. Perry insisted that lawmakers, facing a $27 billion budget shortfall, solve their fiscal woes without raising taxes -- which they did. The issue -- as well as other conservative touchstone issues he's touted all session -- would play well in the early primary states where conservative Republican voters are looking to pick a nominee who can defeat Barack Obama.

1. I think he'd rather be president or chancellor of Texas A&M. Then maybe he'd
Find out how much he's screwed things up there.

Hey, W8liftinglady, I've been doing school nursing this last year. For school nurses week we all got a letter from guvner goodhair, thanking us for allowing society to dump its children on us in the nurse's office because they can't afford healthcare. What a shit. And his wife is a nurse.

2. You guys are a lifesend for those kids
...and how do I know?
My partner tells me the pregnancy rate for his 5th graders is actually a discussion topic.
My son informed me that several of his 7th and 8th grade classmates are pregnant, and that there are rumors about venereal diseases on campus.
I cared for the parents of your students...you know, the newly diagnosed TB patients.
I cared for their grandparents... the ones they, their cousins and other various and sundry family members live with.
Yeah, Thanks for the help,Rick- you heartless bastard.

There,I feel better.

4. I've done mostly elementary, but some middle school...
In the elementary school level, I've worked as a sub at several very middle class schools, one country school (really heavenly), and a very troubled elementary school. That last one worked me to death to the point that they made it difficult to handle the real cases needing to be evaluated by the nurse. At that school, there is so much parental neglect, some intentional, some due to ignorance. Honestly, it was physically easier working a 12 hour shift in the cardiac step-down unit or ICU. Parents send their kids to school knowing they are sick, expecting the nurse to take care of them, their fevers, their diarrhea, their menstrual cycles, give them medication without parental permission or the parent supplying it, etc. They expect the school nurses office to be a real clinic with a FNP in it. The governor doesn't understand that my school nursing office isn't the threshold. Unless there is an emergency, I have to turn it over to the parents who have to decide whether they can get medical help.

8. That's a lie! You need a BRAIN to think!
No evidence whatsoever that Perry has had, does have, or will have, a brain. Brain stem functions, sure. He's breathing, for instance.

Actual cognitive processes? NO WAY!

I didn't vote for the bastard for yell leader or anything since then. Not my fault.

9. Obama to win Texas?
Running for President out of such a huge state mightn't be the best idea when your own popularity is in free-fall...
