I'm surprised he was that old. He was the first republican governor of Texas since reconstruction serving from 1979-1983 and 1987-1991.

Sank his own rig in the Gulf to avoid investigation and prosecution.
Banned for life from SMU games after he and his crooked buds got that program the death penalty for illegal payoffs.
The dirt's covered him now. Good.

When one of his rigs had a huge blow out in the Gulf drilling for PEMEX, he was asked what he should do to help the people of Texas. His goofy-assed reply was something like, 'tell them to pray for a hurricane to wash the oil away.' He was a champion a$$hole. He's dead. Good for him. I know he had a stroke in his second term and nobody missed him.
