I wish I could be out there with you today but I just say you marching down Woodall Rogers Service road. See the police have their paddy wagon out! Sheesh!

It was fun. :) I was at Pike Park and made the march.... past Rolex, past The Ritz.... lol. Some people up on the higher floors at rolex had signs, but I couldn't tell through the glare if they were pro or anti. I suspect anti, but maybe not. I was surprised there weren't more hecklers and/or counter protestors.

and donating so well. There have been no arrests that I'm aware of, but there is a little tiny bit of friction since a neo-con talk-show host by the name of Alex Jones has decided to join the group. Some are saying that he is just trying to get publicity for himself and his radio show. There's also a few Ron Paul supporters in the mix (I guess the more, the merrier).

I hadn't heard about the Alex Jones stuff, but I wasn't down there at all yesterday. Lol I checked out completely yesterday. Some days are like that. I am ok with Paulites, and even Tea Partiers, as long as they are there to support the cause. There is *some* overlap in what we all want, after all.
I took my son down on Saturday and we got there in time for a circle where about 30-40 people passed the megaphone around and told why they were there. It was really great and very moving, more than one speaker made me cry. There were moms who said they came because they knew they would never be able to give their own kids what they had had when they were growing up. Teachers who were laid off or who couldn't find a job. Students from east Texas trying to finish their degrees but worried they would never be able to pay off their student loans. Older workers who had gone from making 28 dollars an hour to having to take the same position for 12 an hour. A guy who owns a manufacturing company spoke about how manufacturing is not low rung, anyone can do it jobs. He hires engineers, techs, scientists, as well as unskilled labor and told how he used to be able to hire folks and send them to school for the skills he needed, but no longer can do that even though he would like to. Campaign finance reform/public funded elections, food supply issues and the ability to grow our own food, environmental/Earth issues were other things that brought people down to Pioneer Plaza.
I hope it continues to grow and that the City and the police continue to be good to the occupiers. The cops have been great and when we were there on Saturday were very relaxed and easy going. People in cars passing by were honking in support very often etc. I have to say my home town has really pleasantly surprised me with all of this.
