News update on local channel regarding Jerry Falwell (if you care . . . |
|
if you don't, that's okay too.)
First they reported that the family wants to thank everyone for their prayers and phone calls.
They want to thank the PRESIDENT for his call. President called? Wow, some priorities, huh. oh, uh, . . .
Falwell has been updated from critical to stable but guarded. He has congestive heart failure, which my dad had two months ago.
It's fluid accumulation around the heart and in the lungs. They cannot breathe and if they do not get the respirator in quick enough, there could be brain damage due to lack of oxygen (I swear, I didn't make this up).
I think We will be seeing a thinner Falwell because that is the main thing my dad has to do and that is lose weight. Plus, home oxygen.
I thought we had lost my dad a couple months ago, but thank God he made it through.

1. Congestive heart failure! |
|
That's how my family goes. Nasty.
For Falwell, however, suitable.

Not a word yet about the thousands killed again in another earthquake and still no comments when US troops are killed.

10. LOL, who is Pickles? That is what went through my mind as well |
|
when I heard the family wanted to thank Bush for his call(s) -- not sure if there were more than one--
But, according to the Repubs, he is not the media whore Clinton was. I agree, he won't come out from behind his four walls too often (except to use OUR tax money to fly to his ranch in Texas and Back -- since he has been in the white house) because somebody might ask him a question. He's such an idiot.

seriously? Pickles is DU-speak for Mrs. Chimpy McFuckstain.
I assume you've looked at her sourpuss face before and, now, understand why she's called that.

13. Thanks, it's horrible to see someone you love on a respiratory |
|
because sometimes once they get on one, it is hard to wean them off of it. My dad only had the respirator for 1-1/2 days.
Our doc has told me that God has really blessed his eyes on my father because my father should have been dead 25 years ago when he had his first heart attack. He says he is a walking miracle. He says this because my dad smoked (up until he had the heart attack at 50), drank heavily off and on, weight up and down all the time (me too and my sister. My mom has never weighed over 110; however, me and my sister are up and down like Daddy.)
He has had a triple bypass, prostate cancer survivor (8-1/2 weeks of radiation therapy), right carotid artery surgery, left carotid surgery, congestive heart failure, and is now on home oxygen. All of this within months of each other. He has come through it all with a smile on his face. He loves life and living it.
When he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he had a little problem down there with the circuitry (if you know what I mean). I was walking up to him and the doctor after my dad's examination and caught the end of the conversation. I found out later from my dad what the doc had asked and he told me the above. However, what I caught was my dad saying, "Nah! I've had a good run with it. I'm pretty much done. (I thought I was gonna bust a gut. My dad was 72 at that time.).
Now that he has had CHF and been on the respirator again, he has to lose weight to the point of being skinny, per the doc).
My dad says, first I had to give up my cigarettes, then I had to give up my alcohol. Then I couldn't have sex anymore, and NOW they are taking my food away. No wonder people die at my age.
Sorry so long. Just had to share though.

6. Not to sound mean and uncaring, JF won't be with us for long. |
|
Congestive heart failure is not a long term disease, and at 71, I suspect he'' be leaving us in the next year or so.

My mother was hospitalized and diagnosed with congestive heart failure. With diet and medication, she lived (pretty damned well, all things considered) almost another two decades.
But then, she was middle-aged when diagnosed. Plus, I'm no Dr. Frist.

17. Stretching the definition a bit, but she was in her early 50s. |
|
Anyway. I'm sure Falwell's prognosis is not so good due to his advanced age, but don't write off the mean old bastard just yet.

14. I know. It is chronic and just continues to get worse over time until |
|
finally they are on a respiratory to breathe or die. My dad has a Living Will and he has already made it clear to all of us that if he could only live being on a machine, pull the plug. Plus, he is an organ doner or whatever they need (he said).
