NoVA DUers: Would you like to come to a cookout in Charles Co., MD? |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-13-05 08:07 AM by bertha katzenengel
Mrs. V. is the Grill Mistress, the Woman Of Tongs And Fire, and I am the Hostess with the Mostest.
We're thinking about a Saturday afternoon, in June (no firm date yet; waiting for responses). We have no pool, but we have a deck surrounded by trees. It's a lovely little setting (we think) and we love to share it with our friends. Now it's time we shared it with our DU friends.
The menu would include teriyaki salmon (la spécialité de la maison), a variety of vegetables, chicken, and probably beef & garden burgers. We'll ask everyone else to bring chips, dip, salsa, fruit, salads, and BYOB.
I'll post this in the DC and MD fora, too, as well as the lounge.
Let's eat!
:bounce:
PS Warning for those w/ allergies: we have cats.

1. It sounds like fun - bring a snack to share. |
|
Will the cats hide or will they let us pet them? Lots of us like to pamper cats.
It sounds like an entertaining outing. I can't guarantee. Spouse has a say and I dragged him to a Dem fundraiser last week that was not any fun for either of us.

2. This is no fundraiser. |
|
This is a sit around, outside or in, and eat, drink and be merry with smart, fun people. :bounce:
A few of the cats will let you pet them. Harry & Richard love company.
Hope you can make it!

3. I would love to do something like this! |
|
for the Hampton Roads/Richmond/Outer Banks/Eastern Shore DUers. Then I worry about security!
Most meet-ups meet in a public places, but would love to open my home to my friends here. Should I run security checks? LOL, no, I'm serious, my husband's a retired combat marine and my son is a fed, so I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt! I guess I'm more worried about DU Moles who lurk and collect personal info too.
Bertha, you're my hero for being so trusting in your generous, and FUN, plan!
Then I thought, wouldn't it be cool to have a mid-atlantic regional meet-up at some fun place....after Labor Day when hotel prices drop, and Busch Gardens/Kings Dominion is still open :)
I never used to be so fearful and distrustful, guess we have the Bushies to thank for that
