--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Homeowners across Virginia feel the pinch every year of skyrocketing homeowner taxes. When
the state doesn’t pay its bills, local governments make up the money by raising taxes on homes
and farms.
Tim Kaine will fight to protect Virginia homeowners by taking five key steps:
· Making up to 20% of the assessed value of each home and farm tax-free
· Exempting additions and rehabilitations from taxation
· Fully funding the state’s commitment to public education
· Vetoing any unfunded mandates on local governments
· Ensuring more public participation in the local tax rate-setting decision
Authorized and Paid for By Kaine for Governor.
