Now with the VA governers race underwau |
|
I have noticed the two canidates arguing over property taxes. I want the real numbers so I can produce some real graphs. I don't feel like researching all that much due to my rececnet surgery which did go well and I am home recovering with maily a pounding headache. Go to my profile and I think my live journal link is there to read more about it.
Anyway I did ran some numbers last night but I want real numbers. Now lets say a house was access at 200,000 when Kaine took over and had a 3% tax rate which would be a 6,000 tax bill. Now lets say we have a .5% cut which would cause a 2.% tax rate. Now lets say in this rapidiliy rising property values in Virginia we have a access valau or 315,000. Under the new tax rate of 2.5% we have a 7875 tax bill. Now this is an "Increase" of 31.25% NOw the house value went up by 57.75%
Now just for fun let see how much this family saved if the rate was never cut.
315,000 at 3% is a 9450 tax bill. This is a 1575 tax savings!! Which is actually a 16.67$ tax savings!!! You see anything can really be done with numbers. One must listen carefully.
Kilgore reports that Kaines tax BILL went up 37% which is very close to my number which I think are very realistic. Now if I could just get the actual tax rates and tbe actual home values of richmone I could do a better calculation and write to Kilgore to tell him off.

1. Now, if Kaine can come up with a way |
|
to articulate this in an ad, it would be helpful. His current property tax rebuttal ad doesn't specifically address the repug's statement about the tax increase on Kaine's home.
