What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"The demise of the two-party system in Virginia. Since 1992, Democrats have lost four congressional seats and 25 seats in the legislature. We have become the minority. On the other hand, the success of Gov. Mark Warner has shown that Democrats can win with a message that unites all of Virginia. That means focusing on 'bread and butter' issues, such as higher education, high-speed rail and tax reform, that connect our communities and provide an equal opportunity for all to succeed. My goal is to promote that positive Democratic message in every corner of the commonwealth."
Why should voters elect you?
"I have a history of defeating Republicans in tough races, and I'll do it again this November. I just need the chance."
