That was a wonderful town, based on my distant memories of it. I got there in 1978 and we left for Florida the same day that John Lennon got shot.
I lived on Neil Drive, about a block away from Glen Cove Elementary School. Anyone here know the neighborhood, by chance? :)
Edited to change 1979 to 1978. Told you it's been a while. :P

down in chesapeake. longtime democrat mayor didn't run for re-election and now someone from the whitebread part of town won the election by just over a hundred votes. So let's see, I now have a GOP mayor, state assemblyman, state senator, congressman, and two senators. I think it's time to move...

I know what you mean. Living in this area really is awful. We need to get more Demacrats to run and win in this area. I live in Newport News so I am in the same situations.
