George "Robo" Bush called my home ! |
|
Anyone else get this yet? Of course telling us to vote for Kilgore, but also sounded like he was doing an Elvis impersonation with his "thankewverymuch" at the end. You could tell he was reading a script, very unnatural, like his radio addresses. AND, paid for by the RNC.

George Allen left me a nice little message yesterday afternoon urging me to vote for Jerry. I'm concerned, because he sounded constipated.

He called here too, but hubby erased it before I had to hear it. We got Rudy's call and a few others, too.
I voted in the Republican primary against Kilgore. My spouse voted in the Democratic primary. I felt I would support any Democrat who ran, but I disliked Kilgore enough that I wanted to vote against him. The parties have lists of people who voted in their primaries. In fact it is public record who voted in what election. The primaries were separate elections held on the same day, you could only vote in one, not both.

But I deleted it as soon as I heard "Hi, I'm George W. Bush." Seriously, I didn't want that man's voice infecting my home.
I'm a bit perturbed though. I got a Republican mailer today and TWO Republican messages on my machine, and yet no phone call from the Kaine people. I'm a registered Democrat, so there's no worry where my vote will be going, but this last minute GOP blitz could be disruptive.

3. I am interested to hear that you are a registered Democrat, |
|
since in Virginia you do not register by party. One of the things that makes tracking voters by inclination difficult. I think the State (it says "State" on the website, not Commonwealth) Board of Elections provides information on voters to both Dem & Rep state level organizations; it is then up to the state/county/whatever level groups to amend those lists according to responses from phone-banking etc. But I think Virginia is officially "don't ask, don't tell"--if you don't want us to know, we don't.
We're still hoping that any association with Shrub will do nothing but bite Jerry Kilgore in the ass. Would you feel better if I called you??? Send me your number, and I will--I called +- 120 other folk today!

7. Va doesn't register by party, no? |
|
Based on the mail I've gotten these past few weeks, it's addressed to my DMV license name, which is the only way I'm registered, anywhere, with my full middle maiden name  Otherwise, I just use my middle initial. Creeps me out that George has my home phone number now.

What I meant was that I'm a member of the DNC, and usually that shields me from right-wing crap, whether it be local, state, or national elections. They must be really hard up if they're targeting confirmed Democrats.

6. We didn't get The Village Idiot, but we've gotten three calls |
|
from the Kilgore campaign so far. Go figure! :eyes:
Fortunately, we haven't received any literature from them, but Michelle McQuigg has inundated us with paper. Guess the McQuigg folks didn't realize Hubby's working on the Porta campaign. ;)
