3. Excellent thanks
I found that site when looking for Roanoke County results. Problems already reported in Roanoke County (65% W in 2004 but nearly split on one of the House races not at all on another)

4. They won't report until polls close
Media is (rightly) under the impression that reporting results before the polls close could bias results. An important thing in presidential races across 6 time zones, but maybe not as important here.

At least in the old days for these sorts of races the major media outlets would use the same reporting service(s) and a slew of volunteers to get the results in. I don't think one local site is going to be anything more than a couple of minutes faster than the others at the most. I would use the local media company's website who is the most progressive so they can get the advertising dollars.

5. What are the areas to watch that should be good for Tim Kaine?
I know Charlottesville and surrounding area, and Fairfax...what others should be showing blue when the results come in...and what so-called moderate Republic areas should be showing blue?

6. Loudoun is a good barometer
THe fastest growing county in the state. The west is VERY conservative (home to Patrick Henry College where Shrub gets most of his flunkies for 1600) but anti growth.

8. That may not be true anymore.
Kerry was the first Democrat to win Fairfax county on a national level since 1964. I think it has trended so much towards the Democrats now I don't think it is a good indicator anymore. If Kaine wins by over 10% in Fairfax, that's a good sign.

Arlington I would expect to be Democratic, what with it being so near to DC.

12. There is the City of Richmond, as well as a county called Richmond.
Two different places. The City of Richmond is the capital of the commonwealth. Richmond County is located elsewhere.

Do they usually go our way though? I would think that the City of Richmond should be for us...but I might be wrong.

25. Watch Prince William County
East of the I-95 cooridor it tends to go blue just west of there, outside of the condos, it tends red.

Prince William, with it's inner and outer suburbs is indicative of the state. Long time Dem state delegate candidates who are very popular don't hurt.

I worked the polls from 5-7 pm....lots of people ticked off at kilgore's negative ads.

One woman came in to vote for Kaine because the republicans kept calling her house and she got pissed.

27. about 1/2 the votes are in now
most of the small precincts have reported...Kaine leads 51-47 and honestly, should carry most of the larger precincts too. More metropolitan generally means more democratic.

If Kilgore wins I will have to seriously question the voting software...I voted in Tysons Corner and I had to use a diebold stealathon3000

Funny how prescient our fearless leader was a few days ago:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/11/20051107-4.html

"See, I know a man of character and integrity, and he's standing right next to me. And that's Jerry Kilgore."

"That means he's a down-to-earth person. He doesn't have a lot of fancy airs. That's the kind of guy you want to represent you, a person who understands how the common man thinks, a person who shares the values with the majority of people in the Commonwealth of Virginia."

Durn fuzzy math again, eh W?

The Kaine mandate. Almost 52% of the vote, over a 100,000 vote spread, and an even larger percentage win over the opposition than Warner had.

37. Attorney General Race Going Down To The Wire
It could go either way, even with 99% of precincts in. IMO, the fact that Deeds got the NRA endorsement will tip enough of the (otherwise reflexive Pubbie) votes from downstate to win the day.
