Back from Earnie Porta's house

Earnie is running for state delegate against an incumbent anti-choice Republican woman, Michele McQuigg, in Prince William County's Occoquan district.

We made our phone calls and things were - neutral - can't tell you what I think the election was going to be (although an older couple nodded at me when I drove by with my Kaine sticker on the car).

In my Mom's district the long time incumbent Democrat, Hilda Barg is running against a new shit ass twerp Republican, Jeff Frederick. There were just too many signs in the neighborhood.

All the old folks went out to vote today (I took the day off to volunteer so I was there when they were). When I took my Mom to vote the retirement home bus had just left off. There were so many people there with walkers (including my Mom) it was beautiful to see all these old folks voting - in spite of the difficulties they had). Most of them (I hope) voted our way, after all, they elected Roosevelt to four terms, didn't they?
