Both Kerry and Bush ads have been shown on CNBC recently.
While I hate seeing the latter, it is a VERY good sign that both campaigns are investing some $ to influence Virginia voters.

About a month ago, I asked a friend who is a Washington DNCer whether Kerry is considering fighting for VA and he laughed at me. I told him I thought he might be surprised how things have changed and he politely explained how impossible that was. But then he reminded himself that I thought Edwards was "the one" before Iowa and how at that time he said Edwards had "no chance." Maybe the DNCers need a bit more diversity of opinion? ;););)

2. Isn't cable a national buy?
I thought the campaigns were airing ads nationally on basic cable.

5. There are lots of local ads (for mom&pop restaurants, sporting goods
stores, etc.) on our cable stations here. But I don't know specifically about the Kerry & Bush ads I saw, as to whether they were shown nationally.

3. I've seen absolutely 0 Bush ads
And nothing but Kerry ads. He's on Fox, UPN, and most of the network stations.

I'm half-and-half: waiting for the over shoe to drop and Bush releases an onslaught of ads or thinking that Bush just isn't bothering. But either way, the Kerry ad they're showing (the one where he's just talking about healthcare) is very nice and very effective.

And I've seen a TON of Kerry bumperstickers here in Richmond, as opposed to the rare Bush bumpersticker. Maybe that's a good sign...

4. I have seen 0 Bush Ads on local TV
here in Hampton Roads. I see several Kerry ads every day.

Is the Bush campaign taking VA for granted? I don't think it is going to be an easy win for Bush here. I know several people who just can't stand Bush, and want him gone, thus they will grudgendly vote for Kerry. (A vote for Kerry is a vote for Kerry regardless)
