Former Iraq Head Bremer To Speak At Virginia Beach Fund-Raiser

(AP) - L. Paul Bremer, the former U.S. administrator in Iraq, will be the guest speaker at a fund-raiser for Gulf Coast recovery sponsored by the private security company that once provided his bodyguards.

Blackwater USA and the American Red Cross have scheduled a $100 per person dinner Nov. 18 at Sheraton Oceanfront in Virginia Beach.

Former military special operations personnel under contract with privately owned Blackwater protected Bremer's life in Iraq and also provide security to other government and business officials.

The company advertises immediate openings for guards in the New Orleans area, offering pay of up to $9,000 a month.
