1. I think it's all over the ballpark, Eric J.
Some districts (like mine in Henrico) have touch screens, some have those punch cards (the hanging chad kind) and some use the old lever-type machines. As far as I know I don't think there are any paper-pencil ballots, but it wouldn't surprise me. It's a huge state with an enormous range of electorates, ethnicities, cultures - you name it. The decisions about voting logistics are up to the individual localities (county or city).

2. It varies from county to county.
We do not have one state-wide method of voting.
We use the Win-Vote touch screen. Some areas are using punch cards. I think there may be another brand of touch screen machine as well.

My question is, who will run? I hope he (or she) can beat Allen.

3. Harris Miller is running
NOVA, suit and tie kinda guy. He has a pretty spotty record IMO...pro-business, lobbied for DIEBOLD of all people. I'd much rather see James Webb run. He's a solid candidate and he doesnt take bullshit. He's not as progressive as Id like (who is? ;)) but he'd be better than Miller and he could dcefinitely hand Allens ass to him on a silver platter, which Miller certainly cant.

Go Webb!

-Alec

p.s. Oh yeah to see the voting system used by location, go to HERE, then click Election Information, then Voting Systems. For some reason a direct link wont work.

5. I think I agree with you on the candidates for senate.
It is a tough trade off. I would rather have a less progressive candidate than one with connections to Diebold. We need verified voting.

I will vote for the Democratic nominee regardless who he (or she) may be. Any one is better than Allen. He represents the George Bush White House, he doesn't represent the people of Virginia.
