MEET JAMES WEBB, DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR SENATE, THIS SATURDAY IN SHIRLINGTON, NORTHERN VIRGINIA
Sorry for the late notice, but Webb's campaign manager got back in touch with us just this afternoon and said that the only Saturday for the next several weeks when Webb would be available to meet with our PDA group (and other interested progressives) would be this Saturday, from 12:00 to 12:30. So, everyone in PDA is invited to attend. This is intended not for a campaign speech, but for a more informal opportunity for him to hear our concerns, and for us to gauge his responses.
The place is the Capitol City Brewery in Shirlington. The address is 2700 S. Quincy St. in Shirlington Village in Arlington. From the south, take Exit 6 from 395, stay left on the exit ramp, and it doubles back over 395, take a quick left on South Arlington Mill Drive, then another quick left on Quincy. It is right there on the right. Check
http://maps.google.com or mapquest for more information. Phone there: (703) 578-3888
ALSO: ATTEND ARLINGTON VIGIL MARCH 19, FEATURING FOLKSINGER TOM PAXTON:
March 19 Peace Vigil in Market Square Plaza, 301 King Street, Alexandria, VA. 5:30 – 6:30 pm.
Join us for a powerful and emotional experience with folksinger Tom Paxton, candlelight, songs and a variety of inspiring speakers. We will honor all who have died and call for an end to the US occupation. We will mark the third anniversary of the US invasion with a new vision for peace, so that none will have died in vain. Bring candles. Sponsored by the Virginia Chapter of Progressive Democrats of America. For more information, go to www.pdavirginia.org or email Howard Jennings at Alexandriapeace@aol.com.
