Primary question
Quick question, is the primary May 2 or June 13?

Just wondering if I was reading the VA State Board of Elections site correctly. It looks like The SBE list May 2 as a primary date for city elections, and June 13 as a state primary? I've seen both dates in different places and not sure which one is correct.

2. We have our local elections on May 2
you would think Virginia would THINK about that? That is combining the dates? Think of the voters!

Here in Va Beach we'll be whipped into a frenzy for City Council elections in May, but by the time June rolls around, everybody will be SICK of political ads and just tune out and stay home. Oy.

3. Virginia doing something that makes sense?

There could be some law or precedence for separating city, and state primaries. Having them on the same day would be practical and get more people to vote specially for a midterm primary.

4. Probably The Repugs Made the Law
They are so happy to spend recklessly! It is certainly more economical to have elections on the same day.

5. What bothers me more is that we have Open Elections
Only a Dem primary between Webb and Miller, so all the 'pubs will vote for the guy that Allen can beat.

Same thing happened in the Virginia Prez Primary, only Dem candidates, and most of my repub friends thought it was a hoot to vote for Sharpton. (Kerry won here)
