Now that Governor Warner is not running

Virginia, who would you support as President? I know you'll probably support whoever we nominate, but who will you work for before that time? Some of you were probably working for and supporting Governor Warner, that's the bumperstickers I've seen at our political rallys, anyway. I'm thinking myself of John Edwards or Hillary Clinton. I'm not sure yet and you can persuade me, especially between these two. I want to know DU'ers take. Let's keep it a pleasant discussion though.

The one thing I refuse to ever do again is get caught up in fights during the nomination process. Whoever wins, I'll speak well of, even if it isn't my guy or gal. And whoever you support I respect you for it. (I think I can trust the VA forum not to have the stridency of the GD forum at times)

I think it should be a non-Congressman, someone who was always against the war, and preferably someone who can put a red state in our win column.

That said, after Warner, I like:

Clark
Edwards (Edwards makes a better vp due to his lack of experience)

He already had a Mark Warner for prez bumper sticker. . .

I think as of right now I'd go for Clark or maybe Edwards. I'd always like Edwards so I think he be a good choice.

I really have nothing against Hillary . . but I'm not sure if she would make a dent in the southern red states (Granted if she could hold on to all the states we won in 2004 and then try to add either Ohio or Florida then she wouldn't have to dent to much regardless) . . but just as a personal preference I'd prefer Edwards.

Like you said though . . whomever our party picks I got their back!
