Volunteer! You'll be glad you did!

Hey,

I'm just back from distributing Webb/Weed campaign literature in my neighborhood. Although I've contributed money to Democrats in the past, this is the first time I hit the pavement. What a feeling! My Danville neighborhood could not be a stronger Democratic stronghold. It has a wide range of property values, millionaire mansions and decrepit apartment houses, and is about 50/50 racially divided. But overwhelmingly Dem according to the list I used distributing literature. Everyone I encountered was glad to take it. I met one neighbor who first registered to vote in 1938, and others who were in their twenties.

Never thought it would be so easy. I just went in to the campaign office, identified myself as a contributor, got two yard signs and a zillion brochures along with a list of D and I voters on my street and four nearby. Have to stop now so as not to get confused with trick or treaters but will be back out in the morning.

Jim Webb visited a building today where I was taking a class, but I missed seeing him :( At least he was in Danville the day I was passing out his campaign literature, which seems like a positive omen.
