Need help finding "blue" bank

We'll be moving back to Virginia soon, and we need to find a bank for checking, online bill-paying, and ATM services. Ideally, the bank would have branches in both Northern Virginia (near Ashburn and Fairfax) and Southwestern Virginia (near Roanoke/Lynchburg).

I want to try to find a bank that's "blue" - which in SW VA might be difficult. Does anyone have suggestions?

1. Is there such a thing as a blue bank?

Figured all any bank would care about would be money and anything positive they do in a community would be just for PR.

Any bank that has branches in both areas you're looking for are going to be the large banks like Wachovia, SunTrust, BBT, Nations Bank, etc. I just glanced through the Roanoke phone book and didn't see any smaller banks that have branches in both areas. Member One Credit Union has branches in SW Va and the tidewater area.

2. There probably AREN'T any blue banks, but I wanted to give it a try.

3. only red

I think all banks are generally red, especially in Va.
