Vote for Bill Hastings on Tuesday if you live in Chesterfield. |
|
For Matoaca Supervisor. The ONLY candidate willing to address the issue of growth and lack of infrastructure. All of the republicans are in the pockets of the Home Building Association :eyes:
Bill's a good guy. Honest, decent and coined the phrase 'smart growth'. We need him, especially out here in the Western section where the growth is ridiculous.

2. There's another Dem running |
|
who is not only willing but is intent on addressing the unrestrained growth in the district. Hastings isn't the only one running, but this is the 4th time he's run for the same seat. I'd say, vote for Don Wilms this time.:headbang:

It would be nice to see the state party show some support for locals. Maybe to much to ask for Virginia? As there are what, six of us total? LOL

4. Nope. Hastings is the one who coined the phrase 'smart growth' |
|
He's sincere, has a ton of integrity, and lost to Humphrey by a very slim margin last time. Probably on name recog. alone.
I'll be at the polling place tomorrow handing out Hastings stuff. He's the right candidate for us.

Smart growth is not a new phrase and just saying, but just coming up with a phrase doesn't mean much in the overall scheme of things. It's the vision and ability to execute that vision to manage the growth that's important. My money is on Wilms who represents a new day for the county. No need to keep going back to the well for a candidate who hasn't been able to win over the last, what, 12 or so years? I believe Wilms offers a lot to the residents of Matoaca and I'm willing to give him the opportunity with my vote. Think about it. This is a rare opportunity for the Dems in Chesterfield to break through and actually get rid of the BoS monopoly.

10. "Smart Growth" isn't a new phrase? |
|
It is to Western Chesterfield residents.
And it appears that the voters have spoken, Hastings creamed Wilms.

9. Get your facts straight! |
|
I have no idea where you're getting your info, but it's always good to check your facts before putting it out there for the masses.
This is Bill Hastings 2nd run for Matoaca District Supervisor. In what was expected to be a landslide victory for the 2 term incumbent Humphrey in '03, Bill Hastings came within 346 votes of unseating her, not the usual 30% or less we Dems typically get in this district. Thanks to Hastings' outstanding performance in 2003, there is no incumbent running this year! Prior to taking on Humphrey in '03, Bill Hastings served Chesterfield as one of its two at-large elected Soil and Water Conservation District Directors. He can, and has, won elections.
Hastings' knowledge of the issues, years of community service, and willingness to listen to the citizens of the Matoaca District will serve him well in the general election. He's off to a great start with 78% win in the Democratic primary.

8. I just voted for Joe Blackburn!!!! |
|
http://www.joeblackburnforsenate.com/index.htmlHe actually knocked on our door a few weekends ago and asked for my vote so I went and voted for him this morning. I had to show an ID to "keep out the riff raff" as the older volunteer told me and then I voted for Blackburn (he gave us a sponge too) and Jimmy Wheat who was standing outside so I shook his hand too and promised him my vote. :bounce:
