Saturday, April 26, 2008
Dear Customers,
We are so excited about this Saturday, April 26 and hope all of you can
join us for our 2nd Annual EARTH DAY CELEBRATION from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
(weather permitting). Our beekeeper, Alfredo Neuman will do a
presentation on beekeeping and answer any questions. Jeff Yago of DTI
Solar, Inc. will be on hand with his mobile van to demonstrate alternative
solar energy and wind sources. MaLinda Marchetti, owner of Breeze Hill
Farm, will be here with her wonderful goat's milk skin products. For the
children, we will have bunnies and baby goats from Falling Oaks Farm to pet
as well as the usual Brookview Farm barnyard animals. Be sure and stop by
to see how much the baby chicks have grown. We will have a hayride out to
the chickens in the pasture to help us collect eggs, and pony rides for the
little ones. To satisfy your hunger after a busy morning, we will be
serving our Brookview burgers along with chips, pickle and a drink for
$8.00 a meal. Bring your blanket and enjoy lunch on the lawn. Pony rides
and hay rides will be $2.00 per person (children 2 and under are free).
Please tell your family, friends and neighbors about this fun day we have
planned. The following is the schedule for the day:

COMPOST
As many of you know, we stopped selling our compost last fall to make sure
we had enough to fertilize our pastures. FOR ONE DAY ONLY, on April 26th,
during our Earth Day Celebration, you can bring your pickup truck, trailer
or dump truck and we will load you up. We will also take orders in the
market during Earth Day for deliveries the following week. You have to
come in though between 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on April 26th to order a delivery.
BEEF
Our new shipment of Brookview Farm's grass-fed beef arrived just in time
for this Saturday's Earth Day Celebration. Doug said the new 2" cut filets
look delicious. We have all of your favorite cuts in stock, so come by and
fill your freezer. We also have those delicious beefsticks that so many of
you enjoy.
ORGANIC TURKEYS - $20 each
We have a deal for you on Shenandoah Valley Farm Farms organic turkeys!
You can pick up a whole turkey for $20. These are big turkeys (over 20
pounds) and would taste delicious cooked in your fryer. Just let one of
our sales people know if you are interested and they can get it for you.
RENTAL HOUSE STILL AVAILABLE
We have had several serious inquiries for our rental house at Brookview,
but as of now the house is still available for rent. It is an ideal house
for someone looking for a quaint house in the country that isn't fancy, but
has a nice rural setting with a view of the James River lowgrounds. The
house has three bedrooms and a den on the second floor, with a bath and
kitchen on the first floor. We normally don't allow pets in the house.
The house is available immediately, so call or email us for more details.
Don't forget it's close to your favorite farm market.
EDIBLE GARDEN
This week Chef Ed is again featuring Brookview Farm's beef. You will find
on the lunch menu a Warm Sliced Rare Roast Beef, Sautéed Onions, Munster
Cheese & Seasonal Lettuce on a fresh baked Toscana Hero. Also on the lunch
menu, you can order a delicious, rich yellow quiche which is made with
Brookview Farm's eggs. The quiche is always a good choice for a light
lunch. What a wonderful place to visit after you leave the farm. For more
information, click on their link below.
