**PLEASE HELP ME** I need help. |
|
My life has come to a complete halt: I have seven cats, my husband and I are probably heading toward divorce, neither one of us has jobs, and we both have to relocate because we are in a tiny, dead town.
We've been trying to work on projects, and eking by, but I can't take the no-steady-income stress anymore. Lots of other things, but I can go be with any number of sisters or friends, though I can't bring all my cats, and my husband can't take them, either.
Is there ANYONE in the southeast or mid-Atlantic who would be willing to adopt and love forever one or two of my cats? I currently live in western North Carolina; I can deliver from that area, down to Atlanta, or up to the DC area. Or then over toward Montana/Boise where a friend and one sister live.
I will try to keep 2-3, but I can't have 7. There is one tuxedo male, and then 4 females, all spayed or neutered, recent shots, too.
Please respond to this email or PM me. I will reply as I can; tomorrow I fly home and can reply then, too.
I really need help. I am cross-posting this in pets and a few state forums.

1. I'm sorry I can't take them, but please call your local SPCA or |
|
other rescue group. One of them will try to find foster care or provide shelter, while they seek a permanent home for your pets.

3. thanks... no real options in my small town |
|
A former neighbor who is a cat person can take two if I need her to --- the others I'll need to keep trying. I'm sure I can keep a few, but not 5 or 7. Thanks, spooky3

4. Many have suggested craigslist.org.. |
|
not much of an option for my 2,000 person town, but I'll keep trying. I can't fathom that I'm going through this, either. Thanks Blue_Tires

Include photos and as much detail as you can - ages, spayed, vaccinated, FLV neg, etc. Be sure your subject line says something like: Need to rehome my healthy vetted cats ASAP. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/pet/

7. Try this nifty little search gizmo. |
|
http://www.adoptapet.com/animal-sheltersI found 29 shelters and relocation agencies within 50 miles of my diminutive 7000-person town on the far side of the Blue Ridge. I know that you would rather give up your favorite critters to someone you can at least talk to first, like here, but my guess is a lot of those sites will in turn direct you to individuals whom you can also trade emails with before you pick a winner.
