Hampton Roads early risers - get thee to Phoebus Coffee House in the morning
CNN to tape at Phoebus Coffee House on Wednesday

HAMPTON - For the second time this month, the Phoebus Coffee House has attracted the attention of a major media company.

CNN is planning on taping a presidential debate party on Wednesday night at the coffee house on Mellen Street. The cable television news station will then broadcast live on Thursday morning from Phoebus as part of the "American Morning" program that starts at 6 a.m.

Earlier this month, a Washington D.C.-based news director for Al Jazeera — sometimes called the CNN of the Middle East — talked to coffee house owner Anne W. Doop about broadcasting from the shop on Election Day.

Morgenweck said CNN was looking for a place in Virginia because it's a battleground state, a state whose electoral votes could go to either Democratic Party nominee Barack Obama or Republican Party nominee John McCain.

Additionally, Morgenweck said the Phoebus Coffee House party for the presidential debate that starts at 9 p.m.
