'Rabbi Ben Romer of Richmond said anti-labor legislation, cuts to programs that aid the poor and predatory corporate practices were an affront to Judeo-Christian teachings.

"All budgets are moral documents. When you steal from the poor to give to millionaires, when you steal from the worker to give to the corporate greedheads, you have just violated the basic teaching of every religion in the West," said Romer, rabbi at Congregation Or Ami in suburban Richmond.

"I wonder what Jesus Christ would cut?" he asked the crowd. "He was one of my boys, but that's OK."'
