G.....O....T......V
My wife and I are "captaining" the GOTV phone bank in downtown Richmond. Tomorrow and Sunday 10-8:30. PM me if you need info.

355-0404 is the Richmond headquarters number call them if you want to volunteer. If you are outside of the Richmond area call them and they will give you whatever number you need.

I had to wait for 20 minutes to even get a phone this morning at 11:30 and half of the time I couldn't get an outside line (dial 9) because of the heavy phone traffic.

Lots of great people working there.

I also went down to make contact at the GOTV phone center we will be heading up. Oh my God what a great place to spend a few hours. The Virginia Professional Firefighters (union) office is incredible-exposed brick, brand new hardwood floors, brass inset ceiling. UNBELIEVEABLE. Brand new in an old 8th street office building. 20 phone lines in the finished basement (nice corporate looking tables). Hell we can take naps on the second floor! Did I mention the free parking this weekend and the rally at 4:30 Monday November 1st at the State Capital?

All right folks this is it-WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS!

I am so encouraged but the calls I have made (500+) and this coming weekend.

Get Out The Vote! NOW!!!

1. Hey, Underpants!
I worked the GOTV in Prince William County on Wednesday. I was pretty encouraged. Some of the people I called had even voted already!

The canvassing I did last weekend was even better. I didn't meet a single person as I walked along who wasn't friendly and voting for the Democrats. This was in a pretty nice area in eastern Prince William County. A lot of young families in condos, etc. Even in the single home areas, people were voting for Kerry.

The best part was the chaos in the Prince William County headquarters. They had more volunteers than they knew what to do with! It was far more intense than in the Clinton campaign in 1992.

That surprised me. I was there in 1992 and I thought we had the most enthusiastic group you could have in a "predominantly Republican area".

3. Working here in NoVA
Worked this weekend in Arlington and will be working tomorrow at the polls. Lots of positive responses distributing doorhangers and bumper stickers this Saturday and Sunday. Whole neighborhoods of Kerry signs!
