Everyone knows Tim Kaine is going to be our nominee for Governor
next year but has anyone else taken a look at the Lt. Governor candidates for our party? I'm supporting Chap Petersen. I'm just looking to get some opinions on the candidates.

1. Does he have a chance of retaining the seat in 2005?

4. How is Mark Warner doing?
I thought he was doing well enough to get another Democrat elected as Governor.

2. I will only vote for Chap if I have to...
His voting record in Richmond is not exactly Woman or Gay friendly. If it's between him and Leslie Byrne during a primary next spring, I'll vote for Leslie. There is a 3rd person I believe, another woman from down south, but I don't have a name.

Leslie was in the House of Delegates until she got redistricted out of her seat.

I know quite a few folks who like Chap as LG, I'm just not one of them.

6. Do you have anymore info about Chap?
I just posted a question about Leslie Byrne, so I'm interested in beginning to compare candidates.

7. State Sen. Phil Puckett is also running for LT. Gov.
He's from out near Tazwell County. I went to a luncheon this past Saturday with other Chesapeake activists to listen to him talk. I liked the things he was saying, but honestly I don't know very much about the other candidates

9. I'll probably want Byrne
since she's a fellow Fairfax Countian and she I think used to represent me when she was in congress for that one term. I am really looking forward to casting my first vote though for Kaine, he's really impressing me so far.

10. Anyone from NO. VA that runs, if they get the nomination, will have to
reach out to rural voters in south west and south side VA, just like Warner did in 2001, to win Lt. Governorship.

11. Leslie Byrne is a lier
and a losing candidate. As an incubant she has lost in three legislative bodies. Now she's running on the same issues she always has.
