She worked directly with women as a counselor at the Eastside Domestic Violence Program in Bellevue. She was Director of Student Life of Parkland College in Illinois, which had over 10,000 students. She served as Employment Director at The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle. She was most recently Manager of Rainier Valley Cultural Center.
