Any state employees know the answer? |
|
Is it true that healthcare benefit plans for state workers don't permit the insurance provider from excluding coverage for a pre-existing condition? When I worked at the UW, that was the case, but I dunno if that was UW specific or all state plans.
Going to look into upping our deductible to decrease premiums and buy some time before we run out of funds for out of pocket health insurance.
Got a couple of apps in for state jobs, and one where I think I might actually have a chance.
If worse comes to worst, and we lose our insurance coverage altogether, then later get on at the state, I wouldn't have to spend 5 years paying for pre-existing conditions for me and the wife.

1. Employer plans in general apply to all employees |
|

3. But if we lost coverage, had no insurance, and then I got a job with the state ... |
|
... would that coverage as a state employee preclude coverage for any pre-existing conditions since there was a lapse in coverage?
