it started last week when they dumped o'reilly for franken. this week, they've added randi rhodes and some other shows. i'm not sure how many they'll be adding, they haven't fully updated the homepage yet:

they have a new programming director, dee delancey (formerly of local tv reprting) who des an excellent moring show, giving that rightwing nut tom roten on clear channel some sorely-needed compettion. delancey has been making changes to the station for the better, dropping rightwing shows and sports programming and giving huntington it's first all-liberal talk station.

their schedule is a bit off, since they have schultz mid-day and the AAr shows run on a delay in the evening, but here's the schedule:
delancey: 6-9am
jean dean (hated her as mayor, but she does an ok show-which is a surprise)
metro news talkine 10-noon
franken:noon - 3
schultz:3-6pm
randi: 6 - ?
afterwards: ???

spread the word and let the station now you appreciate their efforts and maybe we'll get garofalo and malloy, if we haven't already

ps: heard tom mcallister this morning ranting and raving about rhodes, so you know she's doing somethng right if she pissed him off

Ed does not screen his callers, Rush is the one who heavily screens callers. He also cannot even spell "Schultz" correctly. Why do conservatives get away with just making up stuff?

and garofalo, as much as i love her, isn't even on wrvc. the schedule on the website is wrong. randi rhodes airs in that time slot here. obviously, caserta has never listened to wrvc much. that's why his quote from gaofalo is from the air america website and not from something he heard on the air.

and he forgets dee delancey, who offers a great show that actually addresses local politcs-unlike tom roten who simply reads newsmax off his computer screen in between racial and homophobic slurs

Too bad they have been off the air all day. Could it be right wing sabotage? I am delighted they offer an alternative to Roten. He is a right wing self righteous, Christian, Bible thumping, kook. I hope they add Malloy that would really rock!

i had to listen to roten this morning to get a news update, bcause delancey wasn't on-tom mccallister (homophobic former council member) was on and was going ballistic about this new left wing station

i was a little bummed that they canned thom hartmann to make room for franken, but i emailed mr delancey and he said they're going to put the show backinto their schedule on a tape delay. he's doing good things with the station and we should spread the word to activists, unions, and political types to support them

8. WRVC is 930 AM

You should be able to receive it in Hurricane. There antenna site is in west Huntington right by I-64 near the 17th street bridge. I read on another board that the had a transformer failure at their offices. I noticed the sister station AM 1340 was off the air most of the day too. Anyway this is great news for the Tristate area. Kentucky is hopelessly red but maybe we can get WV and OH back over tot he side of decency and the human race.
