http://wvgazette.com/section/News/2005081019West Virginia Higher Education Chancellor J. Michael Mullen, who often sparred with state legislators as he pushed an aggressive agenda for West Virginia’s public colleges, will resign in January, the Higher Education Policy Commission announced Wednesday.
Mullen, 62, will leave the state’s top higher education post on Jan. 31.
“It’s my sense I probably made as much progress as I can accomplish,” said Mullen, who was hired away from Northern Arizona University in 2001. “You just get tired. You just get tired doing this job.”
