Gov. Joe Manchin said Tuesday he sees nothing political about his scheduled keynote address at an anti-abortion group’s fundraiser, or his Tuesday appointment to a Bush administration commission to redesign Medicaid.

Pro-choice Democrats, headed by Delegate Carrie Webster, D-Kanawha, said Manchin’s appearance at the Pro-Life Rose Dinner Nov. 10 in Morgantown is disturbing, since the event will raise funds that ultimately could be used to defeat Democrats running for office.
