Ken Hechler pulled it out last night |
|
The last great progressive in WV managed to squeak past the competition to get the nomination. Let's hope he wins big in the fall. 89 or not, I'll take this environmental activist and friend of Granny D over anyone in this state any day.

1. Me too, any friend of Granny's is a friend to all mankind! |

I'm glad for the old gent too! I just wonder how many ears of corn that dude ate this evening? I met him several years ago on the evening of an election day at a resturant in Charleston and he had found out early that evening that he was winning big! I don't know if it was the excitement of the chase that day, or just missing a few dozen meals on the old campaign trail in the little red Jeep, but he ate like a man possessed! If I'm lyin' I'm dyin' the man ate a dozen smallish ears of corn, and built a big pyramid out of the cobs on a spare plate! My wife and I spoke to him as we were leaving and he acted like he'd known us all his life! We said our congrats and when we went out the door he went back to his ears of corn!

2. I worked for the Hechler campaign, still do I suppose. |

The funny thing is, I live in Ohio. But I knew Hechler was a cool cat the first time I saw him speak at a little forum. One of my professors is good friends with him, so he suggested that I go and work for Mr. Hechler, so I did. Basically just putting up signs and getting out information, but good stuff nonetheless.
He's a real different character compared to other WV politicans. You can't even tell what the difference is with most Republicans and Democrats, its a shame.
