Capito, Callaghan set plan to participate in two debates

Rep. Shelley Moore Capito and Democrat challenger Mike Callaghan will participate in two debates before the Nov. 7 election, the campaigns said Monday.

The first debate is scheduled for Oct. 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Martinsburg High School. It is sponsored by The Journal of Martinsburg and WEPM. The second debate, sponsored by WSAZ-TV, is set for Nov. 4 from noon to 2 p.m. at the television station's studio in Huntington.

"I will debate Shelley Moore Capito anywhere, any time, any place," Callaghan said.

"She is wrong on the issues and I look forward to debating her on what is really important to the people of West Virginia."
