West Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Monty Warner believes so strongly in President George Bush that he is calling upon his Democratic opponent, Joe Manchin, to join him in endorsing Bush for re-election.
"I will tell everyone in the state why it's absolutely imperative" that Bush be re-elected, Warner said. "Until the state is in the Bush column, I will sing that from every mountaintop."
Warner said he is trying to set up a private meeting with Manchin.
"In the very near future, Joe Manchin and Monty Warner will sit down and discuss how the campaign will be conducted so that West Virginia is a winner," Warner said. "We need a positive campaign, and we can go from last place to first place in the country if we run a positive campaign."

"We've been playing phone tag," Manchin added.
