Bill of Goods???? Most likely. Let's start with the fact that THF still gets about three quarters of a million each year to our 150 thousand.
The NDA gets 1500 dollars per quarter for WHAT?????
When is someone going to get this scheme under control?
The citizens of Nitro have been being raped financially for 12 years now. The BIG BUSINESS THF guys are counting on the city buckeling under the pressure of continued litigation costing more than Nitro can afford, so basically we are being PUSHED into accepting WHATEVER THF dishes out once again.
The deal is still a bad deal and here is WHY,
It is illegal for any city to REBATE B&O taxes to another business!
For those who do not fully understand.....the Businesses at Market Place are paying taxes...all their taxes. Those taxes are then being paid to THF!!! In addition THF gets a 100% credit for their own B&O Taxes.
This is NOT a good deal, this is an attempt to get votes! Rusty wants re elected and he again believes that Nitronians are stupid...I sincerely HOPE he is wrong!
Nitro is being run by THF and attorneys...not elected officials!
WILL ANYONE IN GOVERNMENT ANYWHERE HELP THE PEOPLE IN THIS CITY?????????????????????
IS THERE ANYONE ANYWHERE THAT STILL BELIEVES IN DOING WHAT IS RIGHT?????????????????
Many citizens know what is happening but are HELPLESS TO STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone, somewhere, please STEP UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no way it is legal to give the B&O Taxes one company pays to a third party.
This has been what many in Nitro have been misinformed about for a decade. I have spoken with people who thought WalMart wasn't paying any B&O Taxes. When in fact they have been paying their full share for the last 10 years. They had no idea the taxes were being paid and then "LAUNDERED" throught the Nitro Development Authority back to the Developer - THF.
WV Law does allow for municipalities, counties and the state to enter into 'DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENTS' with private corporations to bring about 'ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT'. I think everyone understands the need for this and accepts it without comment. However, when the law that allows this is manipulated and twisted as it has in the City of Nitro, it is time to stand up and say NO.
Think about it, IF IT WERE LEGAL FOR THE CITY OF NITRO TO REBATE THE B&O TAXES PAID AND COLLECTED AT THE NITRO MARKETPLACE TO THF. THEN WHY AREN'T THE CHECKS THE CITY WRITES TO THF??? I WILL TELL YOU WHY... IT IS NOT LEGAL.... The monies have to be "LAUNDERED" through the Nitro Development Authority. Because it is illegal for any municipality to do this.
I heard that before THF filed the lawsuit against the city. (A lawsuit I might add that didn't clarify the legality of their 'LAUNDERED FUNDS' but just asked the court to compel the City of Nitro to blindly comply with the original signed agreement.
I heard before that suit was filed the city had asked for an opinion from the WV State Attorney General Darrell McGraw's office regarding the legality of the disbursement of collected B&O Taxes to a third party.
I heard that the day before that report was to be released. THF files the suit in Kanawha County magistrate court. Then the next day the City of Nitro was notified that the Attorney General would not be issuing their opinion as their was pending litigation.
I DONT THINK IT IS ANY COINCIDENCE THAT THF FILED THE SUIT THE DAY BEFORE THE OPINION WAS TO BE RELEASED. I THINK THEY WERE GIVEN INFORMATION THAT SCARED THE HELL OUT OF THEM AND THEY FILED TO SUIT TO HOLD OFF THE RELEASE OF THE OPINION.
