Below is a letter from Anne Barth. Be sure to check out her website and new TV ad.
There are 35 days until the election, and I need your help to keep up the momentum of my campaign for change in West Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District.
My opponent is on TV trying her best to distance herself from the fact that she has voted with George Bush and Dick Cheney 4 out of 5 times since they arrived together in Washington in 2001. West Virginians have long memories, and they can’t be fooled so easily.
I have a new TV ad that reminds voters of the truth about Shelley Moore Capito, and I hope you’ll take a look at it and make a donation to my campaign so we can make sure that West Virginians throughout the district get to see it.
Mrs. Capito has served on the House Committee on Financial Services for nearly eight years. It is her committee’s responsibility to protect taxpayers from unscrupulous and greedy financiers on Wall Street. The current financial meltdown – which threatens every American taxpayer and citizen - happened on her watch. West Virginia’s congresswoman was asleep at the wheel. In fact, while this financial crisis was brewing, Mrs. Capito was taking large campaign donations from the same people she was supposed to be regulating. Companies like Fannie Mae, Countrywide Financial, Washington Mutual and CitiGroup.
Mrs. Capito’s failure of leadership, and her cozy financial ties with the very industry she is supposed to be regulating, is a prime example of why Americans are losing their faith and trust in Congress, and illustrates clearly why Washington is broken.
There is growing momentum for change in West Virginia. Can I count on you to make a contribution to help us air this new television ad across the district?
This is our chance to create real change in Washington. This is our chance to hold accountable the people whose failures of leadership have placed undue burdens on the American taxpayer.
This is your chance to be part of the solution. Please help bring change to Washington by making a donation to the Anne Barth for Congress campaign today.
Anne Barth,

BTW...Shellie voted against Bush's Wall Street bail-out bill and put partisan CYA politics over help for the folks who can't get a loan or pay the bills or keep a job. She's a selfish, obstructionist, leach, playing politics, instead of a responsible representative who's taking care of the folks back home who pay their taxes and play by the rules.

2. Remember when Capito switched from the Transportation to the Rules Committee in 2006? |
|
Too bad for her constituents, who could have benefitted from her support on the Transportation Committee, just as the roads bill was being put together.
Essentially, she sacrificed the best interests of her district by abandoning a spot where she was well placed to deliver badly needed infrastructural funding in favor of a post where carrying water for Tom DeLay would advance her ambitions for a leadership position.
Just like Daddy, she cares only about advancing her own personal interests, and not those of West Virginians.
