Gazette endorses Manchin - WTF?!? |
|
just because he's the supposed 'frontrunner" (despite the fact that no one I know can stand the guy)
never mind that he's anti choice never mind that he's for the so-called 'right to work" law never mind that he's opposed to seperation of church and state never mind that he's a republican posing as a democrat never mind that he backed cecil underwood
--but then again, the gazette, thanks to its current corrupt owner betty chilton, pulled a zell miller and also screwed pritt over for ol' cecil back in '96 - so maybe i shouldn't be surprised by wv's 'liberal' newspaper selling out yet again

2. Who can endorse Jackson? |
|
He claims to have been responsible for school consolidation in WV.
Does he know how this has affected students in Pocahontas, Webster, and other large rural counties?
OTOH, it has made it convenient fot NCLB.

4. Jackson is also antichoice |
|
I swear if Richie Robb gets the GOP nomination, I'll vote republican for the first and, hopefully, only time in my life. Robb is a pro-choice, Lincoln Chafee type of republican and would actually be to the left of Manchin on most issues.
This would be some weird allignement of planets that actually makes the GOP candidate more progressive than the dem and I would have to violate my sacred oath to never even consider voting republican. never thought i'd say those words.
but dan moore will probably get the nod from the rethugs and I'll end up voting for whoever the mountain party puts up there, as it will be the only non-rw republican in the race.

The editorial board had a liberal list to endorse, but owner, Betty Chilton, overrode the board. Write and tell her what you think.

9. Wally I saw you on your way to jail! |
|
I was working at a service station on US 60, just west of the Wv turnpike entrance ramp and I was about 18 years old! A federal gubmint car stopped in to top off and there were two men in gray suits in the front seat and they had you cuffed to the armrests in the back seat! You were the first human critter I'd ever seen in chains! I ask the feds who they had in the car and one said, "Your Governor, Wally Barron!" I'll never forget how sad you looked! You looked like a fairly dangerous man, man!
The station had been torn down by the time they hauled Arch A. Moore away though, so I missed seeing him!
