Pretty much every year the ozaukee dems march in the fish day parade in port washington. The last incarneation was this last saturday. Port Washington is generally the most dem leaning town we have in ozaukee county and while there is usually some cat calls directed at us it is generally benign.
Over the holiday we also marched in grafton, mequon, and cedarburg. Those parades went well enough and infact was more pleasent than in the past.
We march in what parades are availble to us with our limited manpower and resources. In a conservative area, such as oz it is important in our view to maintain what visibilty we can.
The booing was rather continuous this year in Port. Don't know if it was because we were at the end of parade and the beer was taking hold. Fish day is never been a Dry event.....
We were mostly carring signs that promoted the obama health care stuff. nothing provocative
SOMEONE IS DOING A MUCH BETTER JOB THAT WE ARE TELLING THESE FOLKS THAT HEATH INSURANCE IS GOING TO COST THEM THEIR HOMES IN INCREASED TAXES.
Did it bother it bother me alot being booed??? I had my 14 year old hockey player with me and he thought it was really cool--He is perhaps just as defiant as his father (rather proud) But we did have a 12 yr old son of a party officer who seemed a bit rattled......
So for all of you who think the battle is over from last november and everything is going to be milk and honey?????
