2. ours was spotty

If the teacher wanted to show it they had to have a connection to the curriculum and tell their principal. It was intended to be easy to make the connection - I teach and the President is tell you to work hard in school so it fits. But many teachers took instructions as a signal that central office didn't want them to show it.
Sadly, we didn't have a board meeting in between to work this out - I would have pushed for show it to all but let kids with stupid parents opt out approach.

3. Just received an email

stating that the Marshfield school board met over the weekend and decided the speech was "too controversial" and that they couldn't "screen it beforehand" therefore they instructed staff to not show the speech.

There may be an open meeting law violation here ...not to mention the obvious political bias shown...

I can about imagine how the Board President at our school would react to someone trying to stop the President of the United States from talking to school kids about staying motivated, working hard, and setting high goals.
