Just got a call from a woman who describes herself as a Democrat. She said the auto insurance bill will reduce the amount of money that could be recovered if you are involved and injured in a car accident. She asked me to call my representative which I did. I called Pam Galloway. The phone rang numerous times and finally I got a recorded message, "There is no one here to answer the phone. Leave your name and number and someone will get back to you." The Daily Herald had a short report that said Galloway was setting up an office in Wausau. I wonder how that office is being funded. What info can anyone give me on this bill? Thanks.

is that it lowers the required liability coverages from $100/$300/$100 to 50/100/50
What I think that means is that if you are injured in an accident and the other party is found at fault (let's say your actual damages of property damage/medical expense etc) is at $250,000 the court may award the full amount but the insurance company is only liable to the full extent of the coverage. Therefore the insurance company will pay (say) $50,000 and say go get the rest from the defendant, we've met our obligation and we're done.
Somebody check me on the details of the bill.
