1. Unfortunately we can't seem to lose Brian Williams |
|
He drives me nuts.
Otherwise, I think we're getting much better coverage that what CBC provided, but that's likely due to the "local-ness" of it. I love being able to flip between CTV, Sportsnet and TSN - almost round the clock.
I'm going to go through Olympics withdrawal in a couple of days.

2. I'm pretty impressed with CTV. |
|
Between the main network, TSN, RDS, Sportsnet, etc., not to mention the web site, you can pretty much watch whatever you want as it's happening.
And I'm actually currently re-watching the ice dance thanks to Rogers On Demand - is "On Demand" available across the country?

4. We have Shaw on Demand on Vancouver Island. |
|
The Olympic stuff is all free, so I loaded the opening ceremonies to watch k.d. lang, whom I'd missed the first time around.
I'm really tired of Hallelujah, but for her I was happy to make an exception.

We're currently at our cabin in Shirley (20+k beyond Sooke).
Are packing up to head back to Florence, OR as soon as the Games are over.

3. I am pleasantly surprised with the CTV coverage... |
|
I think they have done a fine job in their coverage. I loved CBC's coverage when they were doing it and didn't think CTV would do as good a job as they are, I am glad I was wrong.

7. The coverage is good except for one thing....in some of the sports |
|
the guys covering them are calling out the names of the different participants, rather than their countries. It drives me nuts. For instance there might be 10 or 12 people doing the sport and the guy calling the results will say John Shmon or Bill Schmill (made up names) is leading and we are supposed to remember what country these people represent. Other than that I've no complaints.
